HS Wind Ensemble at CWU
The West Valley High School Wind Ensemble performed at Central Washington University on Saturday, March 2, 2024 as part of CWU’s WindFest. This event provides high school bands from across the state the opportunity to showcase their abilities. In addition, ensembles from CWU performed for the high school students.
West Valley instrumental music teacher, Kirk Knight, said, “The students did great! It was wonderful to see them perform at such a high level on a big stage such as CWU’s. It was also exciting to see recent alumni and to think about a few of this year’s seniors who will perform on that stage many times in their next four years at CWU.”
All three of the West Valley High School bands – Symphonic Band, Concert Band, and Wind Ensemble – will perform at the HS Auditorium on Wednesday, March 6 in a concert that will begin at 6:30 pm. This concert will be hosted at West Valley High School.
On Thursday, March 7, the three bands from West Valley High School will compete at the Regional Band Festival at Davis High School sponsored by the Yakima Valley Music Educators Association. The performances at the Band Festival are open to the public. Symphonic Band will perform at 8:25 am, Concert Band will perform at 1:30 pm, and the Wind Ensemble will perform at 3:35 pm. The Regional Band Festival will be hosted at Davis High School.
