Play and Learn

"Play and Learn" groups for the 2023/24 school year will begin on Thursday, Sept. 21 at the Innovation Center and Friday, Sept. 22 at all elementary schools.

Play and Learn is a time for families with young children to gather for a fun time with their child. Activities are organized by staff from the West Valley Family Engagement Department. All materials are provided.

We ask that families register each week for the session that they will attend so that our staff will be able to prepare for the session with the right amount of materials for each activity. Learning stations include blocks, LEGOs, reading, arts, and crafts. Activities vary throughout the school year.

Sessions are held on days that there is school. When there is no school, such as Sept. 29 and Oct. 13 when staff have professional development, there will not be Play and Learn sessions.

The schedule for the 2023/24 school year will be:

Thursdays, 4 pm - 5 pm, Innovation Center

Fridays, 10:00 am - 11:30 am, Sessions at Apple Valley, Cottonwood, and Summitview

Fridays, 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm, Sessions at Ahtanum Valley, Mountainview, and Wide Hollow

Family members – parents, grandparents, and other care-givers – are welcome to bring their young child to sessions at any school. Please be sure to register each week for the session that you plan to attend. Thank you!
