Collective Bargaining Updates

Overview:

The purpose of this webpage is to keep our community informed regarding collative bargaining with West Valley School District employees who are represented by labor unions.

Represented organizations:

• West Valley Coaches Association: Coaches
• West Valley Education Association (WVEA): Certificated Staff.
• West Valley Principals Association: Principals and Assistant Principals.
• West Valley Educational Secretaries Association (WVESA): Secretaries
• Teamsters Local No. 760: Classified Staff.

Current Contracts:

• The current West Valley Coaches Association contract runs through August 31, 2020
• The current West Valley Education Association contract runs through August 31, 2021
• The current West Valley Principals Association contract runs through June 30, 2021
• The current West Valley Educational Secretaries Association contract runs through August 31, 2021
• The current Teamsters Local No. 760 contract runs through August 31, 2021

Updates

6/3/21 - Secretaries: The District and the Secretaries Association met to begin discussions leading to a new agreement. The parties hope to meet again next week.

6/3/21 - Teamsters: The District met with Teamster Local No.706 representing all classified employees and reached a tentative agreement for a two year extension of the current agreement. More details will be available in several weeks after the parties ratify the agreement.

6/8/21 - Secretaries: The District and the Association met today to continue discussions.

6/8/21 - Teachers: The District and the Association met for the first time and worked collaboratively on bargaining ground rules and setting future dates.
