Develop the nerve-racking SCIENCE skills of trusting in the process and watching how molecules move, SYRINGE/NEEDLE WORK INJECTION, and 'BLOOD DRAWING' practice on 'veins'. We will also learn how to inject fruits/vegetables with different skins and determine the most appropriate gauge of needle for thin skin or rhinoceros skin! We will examine the tissues after injection to see how vaccines and other injected materials disperse after injections are given. REAL WORLD SCIENCE - STEAM! (Space is limited to 10 students.)

This is a Healthy Relationships Skills Group, provided through Catholic Charities, and is open only to Middle Level students aged 14 and up. This group will learn techniques for managing their emotions, asserting themselves with “I” statements, and building self-esteem. Other topics include how to identify emotional, physical, and sexual abuse, how to effect positive change in relationships, and the gender roles around us.
This session will meet on Wednesdays for eight weeks. Participants are welcome to ride the Activities Bus for the first 6 weeks, but will need to find alternate transportation for the last two weeks.
